Water from a rock

This week we learned that God provides for us. When the Israelites were in the desert, God provided them with food(quail) and water (from a rock). Thank you Jesus for miracles!

Our verse this week is Psalm 105:1 Give thanks to the Lord and pray to him.

Don't forget that this Wednesday is movie night! Come dressed up (nothing scary please) and ready to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown". We are asking each child to bring two bags of candy. Parents are invited to join us!

Crossing the Red Sea

God sent Moses to be the Israelites leader. Moses led the Israelites through the desert. King Pharaoh and his army chased after the Israelites. Moses and his people came to the Red Sea. They had no boats and they could not swim across the sea. Moses told the Israelites to not be afraid because God would help them. And that is just what happened! God told Moses to raise his staff over the sea. With a big wind, God parted the sea leaving a dry path for the Israelites. The Israelites were able to cross the sea safely. Pharaoh and his army were not able to cross the sea because God told Moses to raise his staff up again and when he did the waters closed up. God kept the Israelites safe.

This week, share with your child, a time that you were afraid and how God kept you safe. We can teach our children that they can count on God when they are afraid. God will use other people to keep them safe like mom, dad, teachers, coaches, etc.

The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

October 29-Movie night!

If your child attends Halftime on Wednesday nights please have them wear a costume, bring a friend, bring mom and dad, and bring some candy to share on Oct. 29th! We will be watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown in the auditorium. Everyone who attends will get a pumpkin and candy to take home. *No scary or gross costumes please! If you are not sure about your costume choice, please check with Mrs. Orr or Mrs. Gibbs BEFORE the 29th. Thank you!

Moses Leads God's People

This week we learned that God wanted Moses to face Pharaoh and to tell him to let the Israelites go free. God watched over Moses and his brother, Aaron as they talked with Pharaoh and when Pharaoh said "No", God was with Moses and Aaron and had a plan to change Pharohs mind (Plaques). God was also with Moses when it was time to lead the people out of Egypt.
We learned that God is also with us! God loves us and has a plan for our lives. When we are scared or nervous we can know that God is with us. God is always with us!

Baby Moses is Born

This week in class we learned that God cared for Moses. God used Moses' mother, his sister and an Egyptian princess to care for him. God cared for Moses and He cares for us! The children also learned that the many people that care for them are from God. Those people include you and me! What an awesome job we have, caring for Gods little ones.

This week some of the children were able to try out our new play area outside called "The Back Yard". There will be some finishing touches put on our fence this week and in the near future, we hope to plant another tree, inside the play area, to provide more shade. We still have room for a few more pieces of play equipment. If you have any gently used Little Tyke like play equipment you are no longer using please consider donating it to the children here at MVBC. Some pieces on our wish list include a plastic easel, a sand/ water table, and some sort of small play structure that has swings.
We want "The Backyard" to serve as a fun place for the children to play during our cooler months.
