God made....

me special!
This is what our lesson was about on Sunday. When one of the children was asked " How did God make you special?" Her replay was, "Because He made my fingers!". How precious to praise God for her little fingers!
Our verse for the week is Psalm139:14 I praise you because you made me.

We love our teachers...

A big thank you to all our parent and teen volunteers who sat in on classes this past Sunday so that our teachers could all get together for a breakfast meeting. Thank you teachers for meeting with us! We love you!


Don't forget Wednesday is HALFTIME (Cubbies and Stars) at 6:15.
We re-named our groups this past year to reflect what actually happens. Just as in a game, the players meet at halftime to take a break, listen to the coach, learn how to improve the way they play and then give each other a bunch of high fives and run out to play the rest of the game. I like that word picture so much. Kids do need a time when thy can relax and play with their Christian friends and grow up in their faith. So what is the difference between Sunday and Wednesday? Sunday is filled with a Bible story, games, a memory verse and sometimes a craft. The difference is the amount of time that the adults can spend explaining how to live out what we learn. Wednesday the kids get into smaller groups and practice their memory verses together and have more time to talk with their leader (we also play some great games together). We use AWANA as our discipleship program and strongly encourage you as a parent to purchase your child a book. So, Sunday is hearing a Bible story, verse and doing things in a big group. Wednesday is about bringing the Word of God down deeper into our hearts.

God made Adam and Eve

This week we learned that God made Adam and then Eve. God saw what He had made and was pleased. The children learned that God made them too. We can praise God because He made us.

This Sunday our classes will be a little different. We will combine our preschool and Kindergarten class for a movie day. Our teachers will have their annual teachers meeting so, we will have parent and teen volunteers in the class to watch your child. Next week our classes will be back to normal.

September

September is here and with that comes our fall classes at MVBC. This past Sunday we went back to our school year schedule. Our Preschool class in room 4 is for children 2 1/2 - 4 years. Room 14 is for children in Pre K (these children will go to Kindergarten in the fall of 09) and Kindergarten.



This week in class we learned that God created the world for people. It was sweet to hear the children name different things they were glad God created. Pets was the number one answer.

Our bible verse for this week is: "I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way."



On Wednesday we have Cubbies here at the church for 3-5 year olds (young 5's not in Kindergarten). This year we will end our Cubbies class at 7:30 pm. Hopefully this will allow our little ones to get home and into bed a little earlier. Do you have other children in another age group on Wednesdays? No problem! The Cubbies class will end at 7:30 but there will be a leader in the class to stay with the children who have older siblings until their class ends at 8:00. We have plenty of room in our Cubbies class so , bring a friend and let's have fun the Cubbies way!



Thank you for those of you who brought in school supplies for Moon Mountain Elementary School. I'm sure the teachers, parents and children will be excited to receive the supplies that we have collected.
